A livestock center and economic capital of the eastern part of the state, Tizimín in Mayan means "site of the tapir"and is also the scene of livestock and religious fairs. The famous Feria de los Reyes or "King's Fair" draws thousands of people each year. This traditional fair is held from December 15th. to January 15th. The principals days are the 6th. and the 8th. of January presenting many events like: popular dancings, agricultural and rancher showings, bull fights, cockfights, guilds, processions of the Saintly Kings, dairys, mechanic games, pyrotechnic games, and more.
