Maxcanu

This village was once part the dominance system of Ah-Canul, before the conquest. Birthplace of the well-known arqueologist, etnologist and mayan linguist Alfredo Barrera Vazques (1900-1980).

Its main attraction is the "Parroquia (church) de San Miguel Arcangel". This construction dates from the XVIII century. Oil painting representing the evangelists.
